All of us have picked up a book once in our lives, whether it’s historical fiction, sci-fi, classic, or nonfiction. You may have even found yourself lost in its pages. Even if you aren’t a big reader, we all read something every day.

Reading every day helps our minds in ways you may not even realize. It is one of the best things you can do to exercise your mind.

Reading helps with memory and vocabulary. Certain studies show that if you’re reading well written and educational books, you may live up to two years longer than the average person. Reading is also shown to significantly decrease stress and anxiety levels.

Reading can take you to a new world or help you explore the world we are already in. This helps boost creativity, which is very much needed in the present day.

While you may see reading as just a hobby or mundane task you complete daily, there is much more to it than meets the eye.
